GC Woman Slashed At Roosevelt Field

A 21 year-old Garden City woman was slashed on the arm during an attempted robbery at Roosevelt Field on Tuesday. However, she fought him off before he could further harm her.

The young woman, who had just gotten into her car, was accosted by the man as she was buckling her seat belt. The man appeared at her window and demanded money. When she refused, he reached in the window and slashed her on the arm. She then bit him on his arm, causing him to run away.

The woman was treated for her wound at Winthrop-University Hospital and released.
