Daredevils (U12) Still Having Fun!

On May 19th, the Daredevils did it again....defeating the Lindenhurst Waves 2-0. Liesl Jaye started the action with a pass up to Carly Knowles who lobbed it over the goalie to create a 1-0 lead. Erin Greiner, once again, did a great job controlling the midfield and launching corner kicks into the "middle of the pack" to create opportunities for the team. Krista Dampman, Nicole Bommarito, Courtney Studdert, and Lily Schmitt maintained constant pressure on their opponents net. The Daredevils raked in a second goal off a ricochet shot from Jane Frumberg. Kelsey Tierney, along with Brynn Murphy, Bitty Furman, Taylor Pappas and Lauren Coleman, maintained a rock solid defense through the end of the game.

The Daredevils had a double header this weekend, with another game on Sunday morning against East Islip. Jackie Jahelka had a HUGE goal with a rocket shot into the upper corner of the goal. After a scramble in front of the net resulting in a 1-1 game, both teams played hard to try to take the lead. Lauren Coleman was instrumental as center fullback in mitigating East Islip's opportunities to shoot - and the game ended in a tie.

Daredevils Victoria Piscopo and Niki Berkery were missed this weekend due to injuries and illness, and the team hopes they are back soon!!!

The Daredevils will compete in the Fishkill Memorial Day Tournament as they near the end of their season with just two games left. The team continues to have a great time on and off the field.
