"With arthritis affecting 450,000 Long Islanders and being the leading cause of disability, there is a great need for our exercise and self help programs" stated Patrick McAsey, President of the Arthritis Foundation, Long Island Chapter. "We are very grateful to Mr. Fishberg and Cullen and Dykman for their support and because of their help we expect this Golf Classic to be our best ever allowing us to expand our public health programs and research." The Arthritis Foundation strives to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases. They are the only nation-wide organization working to find the causes and cures for the 170 types of arthritis and rheumatic diseases. In past years as many as 190 golfers have participated in the Arthritis Foundation Golf Classic charity event, and because this year's field is limited to 128 golfers - an early sellout is expected.
