Garden City Senior News radio city christmas spectacular

The Recreation Dept has secured tickets for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular and lunch at Koenig's Restaurant on December 5 th. This trip will be taken with Prime Time Travel and the cost of the trip will be $119.

Space is very limited (20 tickets only) for this trip. A deposit of $40 will be needed at the time of registration in order to hold a spot. All rseervations must be in by June 18 th in order to participate in this trip. For further information, please call the Recreation Office at 465-4075. To make a reservation, please visit the Recreation Office in Village Hall. Please make all checks payable to "Prime Time Travel."

gentle exercise with felicia

Our resident Dance expert, Felicia Lovaglio, will visit our Senior Center at St. Paul's every Monday until June 25 th to lead our seniors in Gentle Exercising. This free class is becoming very popular! Come to the Senior Center at 10 a.m. for this one hour class and meet Felicia to judge for yourself. Plan to stay for Bingo fun after at 11 a.m.

The Garden City Recreation Department, in conjunction with Prime Time Travel, is offering the following trips in the coming months:

Tour of Gracie Mansion in NYC - Visit the famous home of the mayors of the City of New York as well as enjoying lunch at Tavern on the Green. This trip will take place on Wednesday, August 15th. The cost of this trip is $86.

East Village Tour - On Tuesday, September 25 th. Join us for a day of fun while we nosh our way through Greenwich Village. We will be led by a NYC tour guide who will take us to shops and eateries where we can sample all kinds of goodies. No specific lunch is scheduled as we will be noshing along the way. The cost of this trip will be $70.

West Point and the Hudson Highland Cruise - On Wednesday, October 17. We will receive a guided tour of West Point Academy, mainly by bus (little walking involved.) Lunch will be served at the historic Hotel Thayer on the Academy grounds. Then we will take a two hour cruise on the scenic Hudson River. The cost is $89.

Registrations are being accepted now for these trips. A $25 deposit will hold your reservation for any of these trips except the Culinary Institute, which requires full payment. To register for any of these trips, please visit the Recreation Office in Village hall. Please make all checks payable to "Prime Time Travel." The new Senior Center in the cottages at St. Paul's welcomes all seniors, men and women! We look forward to you participating in all our activities.

Here is the schedule of events for the next two weeks at the Recreation Department's New Senior Center in the Cottage at St. Paul's:

Monday, May 28 - Memorial Day - Center is closed.

Tuesday, May 29 - Board Games at 11 a.m.

Lecture at 1 p.m. - Sal Fati will speak on the History of Islam

Wednesday, May 30 - Brown Bag Social - Bring a brown bag lunch at noon and enjoy the company.

Thursday, May 31 - Walking group at 11 a.m. Weather permitting, group meets and then walks the grounds of St. Paul's, then retires to the Senior Center to eat their brown bag lunches.

Create! At 1 p.m. - Come join our group that meets every Thursday to make items for the Winthrop Hospital Children's Wing.
