Delicious Door Prizes At ACS' Kitchen Tour

Please join us Wednesday, June 6th from 10:00 am until 2:00pm for the Garden City Unit of the American Cancer Society's "Heart of the Home" Kitchen Tour. This event allows you to tour five of the most breathtaking kitchens and great rooms in Garden City. We hope you will enjoy the newest addition to the fun of the tour: Breakfast at the Garden City Country Club between 9:00 and 11:00 am. With your tour ticket you are also invited to visit The Viking School at Loaves & Fishes Cookshop at 835 Franklin Avenue, for cooking demonstrations and food tastings in their multi-level theater and a one-day 10% discount on merchandise (excluding major appliances) and classes. But even if you are unable to make this exciting event, held just once every other year, you can still enjoy some of the fun and help a good cause by participating in the door prizes.

New this year is the opportunity to win a grand door prize valued at approximately $500. For each $25 donation, your name will be entered to win a beautiful sterling silver bangle bracelet with matching earrings from Tiffany & Co. of Manhasset's mesh collection. And there are plenty of other wonderful door prizes to win at a cost of $5 for one ticket or $20 for six tickets: "Dress Your Table" - One of a kind decorative bowl donated by Green Barn Country Store now located on the web at Greenbarncountry.com; "Learn to be a Chef" - One free cooking class of your choice up to $109 in value donated by The Viking Cooking School at Loaves and Fishes Cookshop; "Creative Cooking" - Autographed "Barefoot Contessa" cookbook; "Stock your Kitchen" - Italian Williams-Sonoma gift basket including an Italian cookbook, plates, dipping oils, pasta sauces and pasta donated by Williams-Sonoma, Roosevelt Field; "Decorate your Home" - A beautiful framed floral print donated by Barnes Gallery; "Entertaining in Style" - Tiffany & Co. white woven rectangular platter donated by the Sweeney family; "Delicious Dining" - A $200 Gift Certificate to Il Mulino in Roslyn donated by the Farkas and Scattareggia families; "Plan your Party" - $150 Gift Certificate for Culinary Heights donated by the McManus family; "Picture Perfect" - A Hand Painted frame donated by Cathy Kulesh, local Garden City resident artist; or "Light your Home" - Beautiful candle from the new Ralph Lauren Home Collection donated by Ralph Lauren, Manhasset.

Tickets to the tour and breakfast cost $60 each; tickets to the tour alone cost $40. The breakfast must be reserved in advance, but tickets to the tour can be purchased at the door. All tickets may be purchased by sending your check, made payable to the American Cancer Society - Garden City Unit, to Mrs. Kathleen Sweeney at 130 Euston Road, Garden City, NY 11530. There are no paper tickets to the event; instead your name will be on a list at each of the homes on the tour, the Garden City Country Club, and at Viking. If purchasing door prize tickets, please remember to include your name, address and phone number, as winners will be contacted by phone after the event. Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you there.
