Countdown To Spirit Day For St. Anne's Planners

Extra volunteers have been asked to join the "biggest, most spirited parish committee you'll ever meet"at 7 P.M. on Wednesday, May 30 in the St. John Vianney Room of St. Anne's Rectory 35 Dartmouth Street by Marie Fischer and John Parks, Co-chairs and their spouses Mike Fischer and Margaret Parks of the parish's nine-hour ('rain or shine') annual spectacular, SPIRIT DAY!

"Help us fold letters, stuff envelopes, review plans to fund building of a chapel in memory of "Msgr. Bill" Costello and give away $50,000 in "Big Bucks" cash on Spirit Day!, Saturday, September 15, 2007," the quartet urges. "You'll get an early peek at the many features of a developing Fifth Anniversary program that is aimed at topping all past efforts."

The spectacular, with food, music, games of chance, inflatable rides, sports contests, a craft fair - something for every member of the family- - is held on the grounds of St. Anne's Church at New Hyde Park Road and Dartmouth Street. It respectfully pauses each year at 5 P.M. for the top attraction of the day, a Saturday Mass celebrated outdoors.
