Mayors Selected For Leadership Positions

Joseph Troiano, mayor of the Village of Stewart Manor, and Peter A. Bee, mayor of the Village of Garden City, have been named to leadership positions in the Nassau County Village Officials Association (NCVOA) for 2007-2008. The NCVOA represents 64 incorporated villages with more than 430,000 residents.

Mayor Troiano, a member of the NCVOA Executive Committee for the past five years, has been elected NCVOA treasurer while Mayor Bee has been selected to the Executive Committee. As executive committee members, both mayors will be assisting with developing NCVOA policies and directing the organization's efforts on behalf of Nassau County village residents. Mayor Troiano will have additional responsibilities of overseeing the organization's fiscal operations.

"I am honored to be elected an NCVOA officer," said Mayor Troiano. "Village government is the government closest to the people - the most efficient and effective vehicle for delivering services to residents. The NCVOA has played an integral role in advocating for village residents. Mayor Bee and I look forward to working with all village officials as we continue to be a strong voice for our residents."
