Father-Son Brass Musicians Honor Veterans

Trombonist John Wolf, and his trumpeter father, John P. Wolf of Garden City were among 100 participants who participated in the Worldwide Echo Taps Ceremony at L.I. National Cemetery on Armed Forces Day May 19.
The Echo Taps Ceremony honored past, current and future veterans of our armed forces and was conducted simultaneously around the world at all National Cemeteries and Battlefield Monuments, covering such historical locales as Arlington, Gettysburg, Normandy and many other national and international sites.
John Wolf, a Garden City High School student and his Dad are active members of Bugles Across America (http://www.buglesacrossamerica.org), a national volunteer organization that provides volunteer live buglers for veterans' funerals and other military-related ceremonies.
The ceremony at Farminingdale Long Island National Cemetery was conducted under the musical direction of trumpeter/music teacher Nicholas Mondello of Locust Valley, a Bugles Across America volunteer member and Vietnam-era Army bugler.
