GCHS Varsity Baseball

The High School Baseball Squad clinched the conference AI title taking 2 of 3 games from Hewlett last week. The Trojans finished the season with a Conference record of 13-4 (15-5 overall). The Trojans have won The Conference Title the last 4 consecutive years.

The team opens playoff action this Saturday. GC is the defending Nassau County Class A Champion.

Rob Finneran pitched a complete game yielding 2 hits with 12 k's.

Finneran opened the 3 rd inning with a Solo Home Run Base Hits by Kevin Derle and Bob Fargnoli gave GC a 5-0 lead.

Finneran, Derle and Kevin Volpe each had 2 hits.

GC-3 Hewlett-6

GC fell behind quickly as Hewlett scored 4 runs in the 1 st inning. An RBI single by Matt Emmert and a 2 run home run by Rob Finneran made it 4-3 after 3 innings.

Hewlett Hurlea Zach Epstein allowed 5 hits striking out 10 Trojan batters.

Matt Emmert had 3 hits.

GC-13 Hewlett-2

The Trojans clinched The Conference Title with his win: GC wasted Little Time scoring 5 runs in both the 1st and 2nd inning.

Senior Rob Finneran improved to 6-1 on the mound pitching 5-1 innings giving up hit with 7 k's.

Pat Sylvester had 3 RBI's. Ryan Sweeney and Justin Kirschner added 2 RBI's each.
