"A Mother's Day Lax Game to Remember"

Mother's and Grandmother's with the players after the game
Mother's Day is one of the best days of the year - if not the best. For it is on this day that we all take time to honor and thank our Mom's for all that they do for us each and everyday of the year. Some kids show their appreciation by doing extra chores around the house or by maybe going out and buying a special gift for their mom. Terry Digan's 4th grade lacrosse team gave a very special gift to all the moms and grandmothers who came to watch the team play last Sunday - a HUGE win over a very strong West Islip team. West Islip came into the game with only one loss to blemish their record. The boys knew coming into the contest that if they wanted to beat West Islip they had to play a complete game.

Starting with the first face-off and right up to the final whistle the Garden City Rams team outplayed their opponent in every aspect of the game. Face-offs, ground balls, shots on goal, goalie saves, assists and most importantly goals scored were completely dominated by the Garden City Rams. The team came out on top with an impressive 7-1 victory and improved their overall season record to 5-0!

The team would like thank all of the Mothers who have given the coaches and players so much support and positive encouragement - this win was for you special ladies.

Once again - Happy Mother's Day to all!
