The dinner will also feature a special performance by the Hempstead Boys & Girls Club's Dance Team members.

The Hempstead Boys & Girls Club was founded in 1997 to address the desperate need for after-school and summer recreation opportunities for school-aged children and youth residing in the Village of Hempstead. The purpose of the Club is to support at-risk youth and their families and provide after-school and summer programming which includes recreational, cultural and artistic opportunities, skill development, academic assistance and the promotion of personal and social growth. Currently, the Hempstead Boys & Girls Club serves more than 1,600 youth annually in four after-school sites and the Project Bridge Summer Day Camp. The summer camp offers a combination of social and recreational activities as well as an academic enhancement in an effort to provide campers with an advantage entering the new school year. The camp operates for seven weeks in July and August and features weekly trips to points of interest throughout Long Island and New York City.
