Ann Madonia, owner of Ann Madonia Antiques on Seventh Street, has graciously offered to appraise antiques as a benefit for The Garden City Historical Society's second annual neighborhood garage sale, A.T. Stewart's Flea Market, on Saturday, June 2. Ms. Madonia has been in the antique profession for more than 35 years and has acquired many interesting and affordable antiques, from furniture, lamps and chandeliers, to paintings, print maps and more. All of her fine treasures are displayed at her two shops-locally at 182 Seventh Street, and in Southampton at 36 Jobs Lane, opposite the Parrish Art Museum.

Anyone interested in having antiques appraised can purchase coupons for $5 each at the June 2 Flea Market. Ms. Madonia will honor the coupons at her Garden City shop either on the Tuesday after the event, June 5, noon to 5 p.m. or by appointment (please call her at 516-742-1882). Ms. Madonia has generously agreed to donate the appraisal fee to The Garden City Historical Society Museum. Please bring either the antique, a written description of the item or a good-quality photograph to the appraisal appointment in order to discuss the item's value.

"I'm delighted to help the Historical Society, which has been making great strides to grow its Museum in recent years, as well as residents who wish to learn more about and enjoy the antiques they may have in their own homes," says Ms. Madonia.

The Flea Market will be held on the Historical Society Museum's property, 109 Eleventh Street, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Potential participants can still reserve a ten-foot-square spaces by calling Marjorie at 741-8050 for information. Apartment and home owners are welcome. Sellers may partner with others to reserve a space.

The Society is also offering sale-on-consignment, please call Kris, 747-1774. Donated items, accepted at the Society's discretion, will be used in the museum or sold at the Flea Market to benefit the Society. For information on donating items, call Jill, 747-8759.
