"Tool Time" At The Cathedral

"Tool Time" at the Cathedral of the Incarnation is a volunteer group for Habitat for Humanity. It has filed applications as a group and is expecting to begin to work in the early summer. Each volunteer is committed to work a full day either on Wednesdays or Saturdays. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, ecumenical housing ministry that seeks to produce decent housing for working people who may not be able to afford their own home. It has built eight houses in Nassau County alone, and the current project in West Hempstead is near completion.

You do not have to be a member of the Cathedral of the Incarnation to join "Tool Time" nor do you need to know how to do carpentry work. All skills will be taught to those who volunteer. There is no age limit for this group either. Young adults as well as very mature individuals are most welcome. If you would like to lend hands hammering, painting, cleaning, sheet rocking, gardening, or making lunches for the workers, please contact Father Joseph at 746-2955, ext. 13. You will be helping someone worthy to own a home, meeting some wonderfully giving people and learning some great skills too.
