A Few Seats Left For Knights Baseball Trip

Past Grand Knight Jim Cioffi reports that there are still a few seats available for the "Msgr. John's Knights" luxury bus trip to Philadelphia on Monday, June 4 to see the "Phantastic Phils" play the San Francisco Giants in "world class" Citizens Bank Park. A light lunch--sandwich and beverage--plus an in-bus film showing are included in the bus/ticket price of $65.

The attractive bus/game offer is open to Knights, family, friends and St. Anne's parishioners.

The game took on increasing fan interest recently since the Giants home run slugger Barry Bonds moved into full stride to threaten Hank Aaron's all-time record of 755 home runs set on July 20, 1976 and break it well before the end of this season. Bonds is curently in the 740's and the new Philly park is a home run hitter's paradise.

The home run race has been made more contentious with Hank Aaron's outspoken decision not to attend the record-setting game or even a post-game celebration dinner.

Like him or not, the possibility that Barry will play in the June 4 game will make it a sell-out! So don't delay. Make out check to "Msgr. John's Knights" for $65 per ticket/bus ride (note "Philly Game" on memo line) and deliver to St. Anne's Rectory, 35 Dartmouth, Street in Garden City or call in reservation to the Knights at 352-2457.

The 55-seat luxury bus will leave at 9 A.M. sharp from St. Anne's parking lot, New Hyde Park Road and Dartmouth Street on Monday, June 4. The game starts at 1 P.M.
