Diocesan Choir To Sing At St. Joseph Church
Laura A. Cassell, Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Charities, emphasized the importance of the evening, saying, "Living in one of our country's most affluent regions means the pockets of poverty that surround us often go unnoticed. This evening is about Long Islanders coming together, raising awareness about our neighbors in need, and raising the funds that can help them. We'll do this as we celebrate 50 years of service with a beautiful evening." Tickets are $25 and all proceeds will support Catholic Charities' numerous human service programs that serve an average 60,000 Long Islanders of every faith and background each year. They include: housing and services for the physically disabled, residential service programs for mentally ill adults and emotionally disturbed children, affordable housing and services for senior citizens, inpatient and outpatient chemical dependence services, immigrant and refugee services, community residences for the developmentally disabled, a dental clinic and a home for unwed young mothers. The agency also provides ongoing support to the programs of more than 100 local parishes. For more information and tickets, please call (516) 733-7028. Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rockville Centre provides Care With Dignity...Life With Hope to the poor, isolated, vulnerable, and disadvantaged on Long Island. Founded in 1957, the agency provides a full range of services out of 60 sites with more than 600 staff members. Please visit www.catholiccharities.cc to learn more about programs or how you can help.
