recreation summer camp schedule The following is a list of the Recreation Summer Camp Schedule. Registration for these programs will be announced in the upcoming weeks. Please watch this column for further information on how to register for each camp. All camps are open to any resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City as long as they fall within the age guidelines. baseball skills competition The Recreation Department will once again compete in Pepsi's Pitch, hit and Run Competition. This free program will be held at 4 p.m. at Grove Park on Wednesday, May 16 at 4 p.m. (raindate - May 17). the competition is open to Garden City residents ages 7 to 14. Preregistration is necessary and can be done at the Recreation Office in Village hall until 1 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16. for further information, please call 465-4075.
spring/summer adult tennis lessons The Garden City Recreation Department will conduct evening tennis lesson for adults who are residents of the Inc. Village of Garden City. The lessons will be held at the Garden City Community Park tennis facility and will run one evening a week. There will be a maximum of four players on a court. the dates, times, and fees will be as follows: Session 1 Meets TimeFee April 30-June 11 Mon., Tues., Wed., 7:00-8:00 p.m. or (6 weeks) or Thurs. 8:00-9:00 p.m.$120 Session 2 July 9-Aug. 2 Mon., Tues., Wed., 7:30-8:30 p.m. or$ 80 (4 weeks) or Thurs. 8:30-9:30 p.m. Session 3 August 6-30 Mon., Tues., Wed., 7:30-8:30 p.m. or$ 80 (4 weeks) or Thurs. 8:30-9:30 p.m. To register for any of these sessions, please come to the Recreation Office in Village Hall. Payment must accompany your registration form and separate checks will be needed for each session you register for. Our tennis pro will then set up lessons on our courts with people with like abilities. You will be emailed or called with your lesson assignment.
interested in playing softball? If you are a resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City, age 18 or older, who would like to play softball in one of the Recreation Department's softball leagues, call the Recreation Office at 465-4075 to put your name on our "player list." We sometimes have coaches who are looking for extra players to round out their rosters. Call and leave your name, age, address, and phone number and we will keep your information on file for the team who is looking for players. adult swim at adelphi The Recreation Department's adult swim program will begin on Monday, October 16 th at Adelphi's indoor pool located in Woodruff Hall. This free program is open to any adult resident of the Inc. Village of Garden City, aged 18 or older. The pool is open for lap swimming on Mondays through Thursdays in one hour time blocks at 7:30 p.m., 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Anyone interested in this program must sign up through the Recreation Office. You must register each day you would like to swim by calling the Recreation Office at 465-4075. No reservations will be taken ahead of time and space is limited. aerobic classes at cluett hall Aerobic classes are held in St. Paul's Cluett Hall according to the following schedule: Monday8:15 a.m. taught by Pat Kennedy Wednesday8:15 a.m.taught by Pat Kennedy Thursday8:15 a.m.taught by Pat Kennedy Thursday7 p.m.taught by Joy Cody Sunday6:45 p.m.taught by Joy Cody Our instructors are up to date on the latest moves to keep you interested while exercising. Pat and Joy have years of experience and can show the individual how to modify the exercises to their levels. To attend a single class, you only need to show on a given day and pay $4.00. If you would like to attend regularly, then we have 20 class passes that cost $60, a savings of $1.00 per class.
