The Garden City varsity baseball team extended their record to 9-3 after an 11-2 victory over Great Neck South on Monday April 30th. Rob Finneran and Kevin Volpe combined for nine RBIs. Finneran was also the winning pitcher. He struck out seven batters, gave up three hits and allowed two walks and two runs over six innings.

That game was preceded by a non-league win over Herricks on Saturday April 28th. In that game, Matt Emmert was perfect at the plate, going 5-for-5 with three runs. Pitcher Andrew Cauchi got the win.

Prior to that, the team finished a three game series against Carey where they won two (15-1, 5-2) and lost one (8-5). You can see many more game action photos at www.Newsphoto.com
