Shannon Tierney maintains possession under pressure

The Garden City Power U-10 girl's soccer team faced off against Valley Stream this week end. Garden City had an aggressive start, forcing the ball into the opponent's end and maintaining heavy pressure on the Valley Stream goal. The Power put some excellent shots on the goal, leading by two at the half. Garden City had two great shots bounce off the crossbar, preventing an even largerValley Streamdeficit. Valley Stream had better movement of the ball into the Power end in the second half, but they were no match for the Power defense, who relentlessly protected their shut out. The Power goalie easily defended Valley Stream's shots. Garden City earned another goal in the second half to come away with a 3-0 shut out.
