Garden City Flames Tie Bethpage Warriors

Chris Koester breaking away to score goal # 1
In an exciting game on 4/28, the GC Flames held their own against the Bethpage Warriors, tieing at 2-2. Bethpage scored in the early minutes of the game, but back-to-back goals by Chris Koester and Greg Pahlavi gave the Flames the lead by one at the half. Strong offensive and midfield play by Brett Alvarez, Luciano Migliore, Tim Collins, Bobby Clarke and Connor Tariche kept the pressure on Bethpage throughout the game. Billy Trimmer and Alex Franco hung tough on defense the entire match. As always, goalie Chris Costigan had some great saves for GC at the net. Although a perfectly placed direct kick by one of the Warriors tied up the score, the Flames were proud of their tough play and teamwork. Playing up a division the second half of their season, the Flames are facing tough opponents, but are enjoying the challenge and are working hard together to raise their game even more. Go Flames!
