Students Selected For Girls' State

Two candidates have been selected to represent the Ladies' Auxiliary of the William Bradford Turner Post - 265 at SUNY College in Brockport, N.Y. on June 24 - 30 th at Girls' State. Each year high school juniors are interviewed and selected by a panel of the Ladies Auxiliary.

It is a unique summer program that does not emphasize lectures and textbooks. It focuses on participation in the administration of a modern state government. The Girls' State group becomes involved, in the day to day operation. The Legion feels it is their responsibility to teach future leaders how the governmental system works. They are proud of these two young ladies from Garden City.
