The girls U-14 Fireballs continued their strong showing in the Spring cup matches with a dazzling 4-0 win over NY Hota this past Sunday. The girls came out knowing that they needed to take their game up a notch from a disappointing 1-0 loss to Oceanside the day before. That match ended with the girls pressing but never quite able to come up with the goal to tie the score. But just as they knew they had to, the girls came out firing and lit the scoreboard for 4 goals in a match that advances them to the 3rd round of the State Cup against Riverdale on Sunday at St. Paul's. The highlight of the game was the girl's ability to play a possession game with excellent ball movement and crisp passing. Throughout the match they were able to open the field by using their support and switching of the field. Good luck this week with two tough games.
