College Planning Workshop

Why is it So Hard for a Good Student to Get Into a Top College?

The Garden City High School PTA is sponsoring a College Planning Workshop featuring retired Princeton University admissions officer and financial aid director, Don Betterton of Betterton College Planning...

* Monday, April 30th

* 7:30pm

* Garden City High School Library

"The purpose of this seminar is to educate families about the reality of modern day college admissions. It is an environment with limited capacity, but with larger and larger numbers of high school graduates seeking to enroll. The result is increased competition and the critical importance for families to learn more about how colleges select students. Better knowledge of the process will mean improved preparation both inside and outside the classroom. This in turn will lead to developing a college list that maximizes the chances of the student finding the right college." --- Don Betterton

Don Betterton recently retired from Princeton University after serving for 30 years as director of financial aid and long-time member of Princeton's admissions committee.
