After the minutes and treasurer's report were presented, President Julie Fehler asked the following members to stand: Dorothy de Lannoy, Doris Foster, Shirley Jessen, Marjorie Maher, Virginia McNamara, Bea Mercadante, Marilyn O'Brien, Mary Polak, Marie Scott, Stark and Muriel Urban. A warm round of applause greeted these members. President Fehler also announced that a score of other honorees were unable to be present.

Then the program of the day commenced with a panel of movie reviewers. this was not your run of the mill movie review program. As moderator Ruth Collins explained, movies have played a vital part of our daily lives. Then, each reviewer described films which had particular resonance with them. Paula Howe discussed " Random Harvest and "Anna Karenina." Three favorites of Marie Scott were "The Captain's Paradise," "The Letter" and "84 Chariing Cross Road." Barbara Smutny discussed "The Great Dictator" and compared the careers of Charlie Chaplin and Adolph Hitler, who was the subject of Chaplin's satire in that film.
