"Families" Petition Supports The Committee To Save St. Paul's

Representatives of the "Families for St. Paul's" presented to Senator Kemp Hannon signed petitions in support of the Committee to Save St. Paul's (CSSP) proposal. The "Families" group recognizes that keeping St. Paul's in the public domain will be an asset for their families and assure continued safe access for their children to the fields and recreational facilities on the St. Paul's property. The group strongly supports the efforts of the Committee to Save St. Paul's to preserve the building's unique interior historic features and distinctive façade, bearing the name of Garden City's founder, Alexander Stewart. The presentation included approximately 1,000 signatures of Garden City residents collected last fall, plus a listing of the more than 200 families that are members of the "Families for St. Paul's." The pins on the map shown in the photo denote the locations of petition signers throughout the Village. Pictured with Senator Hannon are: from left, Arlene Chianese, Maureen Traxler from the Committee to Save St. Paul's, Pat DiMattia, and Rachel Cashwell and her daughter.
