Free Breast Cancer Support Groups

The Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Program is offering new and on-going support groups for women with breast cancer. There is no cost for any group; however pre- registration is required. Most groups meet at Adelphi University's School of Social Work, Garden City. For women recently diagnosed - Tuesday evenings An evening group meets weekly for eight weeks on Tuesdays from 7 - 8:30 pm, with a tentative starting date of May 22.

For women with

metastatic breast cancer - Tuesday evenings

An ongoing evening group meets on Tuesdays, from 7 - 8:30 pm.

The Close Knit Group - once a month, Thursday afternoons A "knit and talk" daytime group for women with breast cancer meets monthly on the 2nd Thursday of the month from 1:30 - 3 pm.

Suffolk group - twice a month, Thursday afternoons

An ongoing daytime group for women with breast cancer meets twice a month in Hauppauge, at the Better Living Now Boutique, on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 1 - 2:30 pm. This group is sponsored by the Better Living Now Boutique and a grant from Suffolk County legislator Cameron Alden.

For Spanish-speaking women with breast

An ongoing daytime group in Spanish, for women with breast cancer, meets twice a month on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 4:30 pm in East Meadow at Nassau University Medical Center.

Groups for couples, teens and men with breast cancer are available upon request.
