Socially Speaking Hofstra University's Grey Wig Production of "A Cole Porter Celebration Concert" drew a full house and among those from Garden City enjoying the performance were: Lou Tice, Marge Maher, and Anne and Gary Metzler. Those leaving were either humming or tapping their feet. It's that kind of music. Don't miss the Children's Art Exhibit at the Garden City Historical Society House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays until April 29 th. It's a winner and we should support our young artists. The show is based on "Doors of Garden City." News from the southland via Dorothy Alford: Palm Beach held a Mad Hatter's Tea Party to benefit their Arts Center and you should have seen the hats. It was right out of Alice In Wonderland. There were a few I would love to have, but then as you all know - I'm a hat person. Make sure that you have the correct date (Thursday, May 10 th) for Bridge at Cathedral House. Virginia LoSardo, known to one and all as Ginny, passed away recently and we all extend our prayers and sympathy to her husband of many years, John, and to her family. Ginny was active at St. Anne's R.C. Church, in the Women's Club of the G.C. Country Club where she was a member of the Ladies Bridge, and on both their Bowling Teams and the Couples Bowling Team for many years. She was a gentle and caring lady with such a sweet smile and she will be missed by all who knew her. Do let's all hope for warmer weather this coming week and I'll see you then. | |||||
