VILLAGE HALL CLOSES NOON ON FRIDAY, APRIL 6

Residents are reminded that Village Offices will close at 12 Noon on Friday, April 6, 2007, in observance of Good Friday and will reopen on Monday, April 9. Correspondence may be dropped in the letter slot at the front of Village Hall.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE EASTER PARADE

The Annual Easter Festival and Antique Car Parade, sponsored by the Garden City Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 8, 2007. The parade will step off from Parking Field 9E and will proceed south on Franklin Avenue to Seventh Street, west to Hilton Avenue. Easter bunnies will be on Seventh Street during the parade.

Please take time from your busy day and bring the family down to see a great Garden City event.

FINANCE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION AWARD

We were pleased to learn from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada this week that the Village's Comprehensive Annual Finance Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ended May 31, 2006 earned a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and its accomplishment by the Village.

OUTDOOR DINING

Working under a special permit from the Village, food establishments on Seventh Street, New Hyde Park Road and Franklin Avenue have placed tables and chairs outside their shops and restaurants for your convenience and enjoyment. Please stop by to let the merchants know that you appreciate their efforts and enjoy the many fine tastes of Garden City.
