Pint-sized Paleontologists Stalk Extinct Creatures

Guest lecturer Mike Straka replaces dinosaur fantasies with equally amazing dinosaur facts.
The best dinosaur hunting grounds may be in exotic badlands and deserts, but you don't have to journey to far away lands to learn about these fascinating, long extinct creatures. Not if you are in Locust School's multi-purpose room during the first grade's Dino Dig Assembly.

In preparation for the assembly, first graders learned about carnivores, herbivores, and theories about why dinosaurs became extinct. Then the multi-purpose room was transformed into a giant dinosaur hunting ground as the students uncover fossils buried in sand using the same kind of brush that professional paleontologists use in the field.
