Regis Marie Gill Buckley

Regis Marie Gill Buckley, 76, of Southold, NY, formerly of Garden City, part-time resident of Vero Beach, FL, died March 27 in the VNA Hospice in Vero Beach, FL.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Buckley graduated from the high school of St. Joseph's Academy in Brentwood and St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn. She met her husband, Carl E. Buckley, Jr. (deceased) at the "20's-30's Club" at St. Aloysius in Great Neck. They married January 8, 1955 and lived in Garden City from 1960-1988.

Regis was active as a President of the St. Joseph School PTA of Garden City, Mercy League and volunteer at the hospice at Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre. She was also an active member in the choir and bereavement groups at St. Patrick's in Southold, NY.

She is survived by her brother George Gill, and his wife Elaine; two daughters, Reverend Noreen Dubay, and husband Charlie; Sheila Shaker, and husband John; two sons, Carl E. Buckley III and wife Evon; Kevin C. Buckley and wife Tess; 11 grandchildren, Casey, Christopher, Ryan (deceased), Owen, Diana, Philip, Patrick, Sara, Robbie, Lizzy and Hope; a nephew, Geoff and a niece, Julie.

Funeral arrangements will include visitation at Willam F. Coster Funeral Home, Saturday, March 31 2-4pm and 7-9pm in Cutchogue and Fairchild Son Funeral Home in Garden City, Sunday April 1 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of burial will be at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Garden City, Monday April 2, 10am.
