The Nassau North Shore Christian Women's Club cordially invites all women to its "The Bells are Ringing" luncheon on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at 11:30 AM at the George Washington Manor restaurant on Old Northern Boulevard in Roslyn. The cost of the luncheon is $17. Marion Sanford will display her collection and explain the 'Language of the Bells'. Lana Noone, Classical Flutist will play "Bell Tones". Ms. Noone is also a nationally acclaimed speaker and author. Police Report: Mischief and Mayhem

On March 20, PO Jacobsen arrested a 37-year-old New Hyde Park woman for aggravated unlicensed operation due to a suspended license for DWI, at Meadow Street. The motorist was also unregistered, uninsured, and had an un-inspected car, and there were tinted windows...On March 19, 7:30 PM, PO Jacobsen arrested a 25-year-old Roosevelt man for aggravated unlicensed operation 2nd degree ( 4 suspensions, 3 dates), aggravated unlicensed operation 3rd, after the motorist allegedly passed a stop sign on Cambridge Avenue... On March 18, 3 PM, police arrested a 33-year-old Woodhaven woman and a 31-year-old Elmhurst woman, at Lord and Taylor, after the two women allegedly stole 4 Sue Wong dresses, valued at $408 each, at the store...On March 18, 5 PM, a 26-year-old Bronx man was arrested for harassment 2nd degree, a domestic incident, after he allegedly choked his ex-girlfriend, a GC resident...PO Wedra arrested a man at Meadow St. on March 11 on the charges of criminal possession of a weapon( gravity knife) and for the unlawful possession of marijuana as well as equipment violations...On March 18, 3:57 AM, at Franklin Ave./Seventh St., a 24-year-old Great Neck man, allegedly driving while impaired( drugs) allegedly failed to stay in a lane there...A wallet containing $400, credit cards, and personal papers was taken from a GC Plaza office... On March 14, 1:45 PM, PO Sommer arrested a 24-year-old Franklin Square male motorist at County Seat Drive after he allegedly passed vehicles on the right in a dangerous way there. He had a suspended license, and an active bench warrant for marijuana.. He also was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation( 5 suspensions, 4 dates)...

A power outage occurred at Third Street on March 14... A cooking fire was contained to a covered pot at a Hathaway Dr. house on the same day...A small cardboard box was found burning on the grass at the median at Stewart Ave. on March 14... A main electric panel had a short circuit at a Franklin Ave. location on March 17...Natural ventilation was used after a boiler clogged causing smoke at a Yale Street house on March 18... An overheated motor in a washing machine caused alarm at a Seventh St. location on March 19... Speedidry removed a spill after a car accident occurred at Fourteenth St. on March 20... FD aided a mother in removing her child from a locked bedroom at Butler Place on March 20...That's all this week. G. T.
