The Garden City Power U-10 Girl's soccer team made their spring debut performance in the Ultimate Spring Kick-Off Cup 2007 this week end inBrentwood. The Power played five games over two days in cold and muddy conditions. The Power played tough, aggressive soccer and defeated two Northport teams and an Albertson team to reach the finals in their age group. The Power faced off against the Hauppauge Rage, the first place contender in the division. Both teams demonstrated strong defensive skills, with the Power exhibiting outstanding goal keeping. The Power persevered against a strong wind, making several excellent runs toward the goal, but the Rage was able to score a single goal to win the game. The Power celebrated its runner-up status with its first team trophy. The Power continues to improve under the direction of coaches Sean McCarthy and Rich Gregory. Congratulations Power!
