Tickets On Sale For Little Shop Of Horrors

Members of the cast of Little Shop of Horrors rehearse.
The Garden City High School Masquers are nearly ready to premier their production of the musical comedy Little Shop of Horrors by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, members of the same creative team that produced The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin.

Little Shop of Horrors is one of the longest-running Off-Broadway shows of all time, racking up 2209 performances. The New York Post called it a "horticultural horror" that "will have you screaming with laughter." According to The New York Times, the play leaves audiences feeling "just like Audrey II between victims - ravenous for more."

Seymour, the play's leading man, is a down-on-his-luck sales assistant who works in a flower shop on Skid Row. He becomes an overnight sensation when he finds a tiny carnivorous plant he names Audrey II. Under Seymour's care, the exotic specimen grows from an adorable plant that attracts customers to the shop to an ill-tempered, R&B-singing carnivore that provides Seymour with his ticket out of Skid Row.

The Garden City High School Masquers' production of Little Shop of Horrors will be presented on Friday, March 22, and Saturday, March 23, at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students. All are invited. For advance ticket and group sales, call 516-478-2531. Group discounts are available.

Liam Bingham, who plays Seymour, rehearses as Audrey II looks on.
