RSVP - Responding to Community Needs. Looking to become involved in making a difference? The Department of Senior Citizen Affairs offers diverse opportunities for training and volunteering to people 55 and older. Come and share your experience and skills with Nassau County residents. Become a Foster Grandparent! Volunteer 20 hours per week with children of all ages, and receive a non-reportable stipend, transportation reimbursement, paid holidays, sick days, and vacation days. For more information, call the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs at 227-8988.

There are immediate placements available in the Senior Community Service Employment Program which is available through the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs. If you wish to work and are 55+, call 227-8903 to learn if you are income eligible to participate in this employment training program.
