My Best Friend CelebratesCinco de Mayo
A highlight of the fiesta will be a lively auction of exciting prizes that run the gamut from appearing as a character and being immortalized in a Nelson DeMille novel, to partying with Kevin Connolly, the star of HBO's Entourage, at their season premiere and after-party. There will also be a silent auction,, which will include prizes like being a VIP guest of our own New York Yankees as they battle the Boston Red Sox, and a glamorous make-over by the Emmy-nominated hairstylist to the stars, as well as an array of wonderful raffle prizes to win. Cinco de Mayo is a holiday that celebrates life and triumphing against the odds. Life is full of hurdles to everyone, and that's when we all need a friend. And when the times are particularly tough, that's when you call on your Best Friend. In this case, someone knew a friend was in need of support, and they told another and suddenly a large group of friends responded. My Best Friend, a committee of forty of your friends and neighbors, has been planning a great party for you to benefit a great cause. The event will benefit the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund, a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization that funds research for a cure, brings together specialists and affected families, and provides vital educational and support services. Fanconi Anemia is a genetic disorder that lads to bone marrow failure, leukemia and other cancers in children. This cancer predisposition syndrome has generated tremendous interest in the scientific community, and many researchers feel this rare disorder may hold the key to a cure for cancer. Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator, has awarded the Fund its highest rating, Four Stars. We hope you'll join us on May 5th, have a margarita and hors d'oeuvres from the Land of the Golden Son, and catch up Some of the committee members with our mascot. ith all of your best friends.
