Dr. Lawrence F. Jindra
This Sunday, March 11 at 9:15 a.m., Dr. Lawrence F. Jindra will address the Adult Forum at the Garden City Community Church. Dr. Jindra is the Acting Chief of Ophthalmology at Winthrop University Hospital. He is a leading ophthalmologist and scientist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma and psychophysical and electrophysiological detection of visual impairment on selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) for cold laser treatment of glaucoma. . He is experienced in early detection of glaucoma and set on implant operations for patients with advanced glaucoma. He has been a clinical leader in the advancement of non-perforating trabeculectomy.

Educated at Harvard and Oxford Universities, Dr. Jindra served his residency at the Harkness Eye Institute of Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he now serves as Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology. He continued with research fellowships in the Nobel Prize-winning Laboratory of Biophysics at Rockefeller University; the Pasteur Institute in Lille, France; the Max Planck Institute in Munich, Germany; and the Lions Eye Institute in Perth, Australia, as well as many other areas of glaucoma researches and studies worldwide.

The Community is invited to attend the forum in the church parlor. Garden City Community Church is part of the United Church of Christ. Worship Services are on Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., with church school for children and crib room for infants and toddlers at the later service.
