On March 6 , police arrested a 45-year-old Queens Village man for allegedly stealing 2 pairs of Steve Madden sunglasses valued at $38... On March 2 , a 20-year-old Merrick woman was arrested for allegedly taking a pairs of L&T sunglasses and an intimate with a total value of $212, at Lord and Taylor... PO Wedra arrested a 19-year old Garden City man for allegedly speeding and for the possession of a fictitious driver's license... PO Dallolio arrested a 20-year-old Hicksville man for alleged DWAI (.06%) and for allegedly passing a red light at Franklin Ave./Eleventh Street on March 2... A 32-year-old Hempstead woman was arrested for allegedly stealing a $30 toy and Disney cup, at Sears on March 3... Also that day , a 17-year-old NHP male acting in consort with a 17-year-old male, who is an employee at Sears, allegedly took $290 in merchandise, mostly computer accessories and an X box, bringing up a bill for only $8.68 at the register there... At 11:10 a.m ., on March 3, a 46-year-old Garden City man was arrested and taken to Family Court for an outstanding warrant issued from there... PO Bandl arrested a 46-year-old Garden City (South) man for alleged DWI(.14%), no insurance, and the alleged failure to stay in a lane... PO Florio arrested a 25-year-old Westbury man for alleged DWI( .13%), allegedly speeding at 48 mph in a 30 mph zone, and alleged unsafe lane change, at Franklin Avenue/Twelfth St. on March 3... PO Wedra arrested an 18-year-old GC male for the possession of marijuana at the Country Life Press RR station on March 3 around midnight... A 35-year-old Kings Park man was arrested for the criminal possession of a controlled substance(anabolic steroids)and for the alleged theft of 2 Super Pump vitamin supplements at a vitamin store located at Clinton Rd./Old Country Rd., on March 2... PO Dallolio arrested a 24-year-old Hopewell VA man for alleged DWI(.14%) on March 4... PO Bandl arrested a 25-year-old Elmont woman for allegedly DWI(.11%) on Edgemere Rd, on March 4... On February 28 , a 19-year-old East Meadow man allegedly took 3 pairs of Betsey Johnson earrings and a Polo men's top at Lord and Taylor... Someone removed a $2200 flat screen TV from a 2004 Chevrolet parked in Field 11 on February 27... PO Reilly and Detective Madden arrested a 30-year-old Elmont woman, a former employee at Kings Supermarket, after she allegedly took $162 from an employee's pocketbook, which had been misplaced there on February 22... On March 6 , a truck stop was conducted and 9 trucks were inspected with 53 tickets issued at Clinton Rd... On February 28 , PO Wedra and Detective Barone arrested two 17-year -old males from the Huntington area, who had been threatening 2 female Adelphi students, a few days after the Arizona University incident, on February 20...They had made numerous calls threatening these women's lives and they were charged with aggravated harassment 2nd degree...

A sprinkler head was activated as a result of a fire from a light fixture at Pay Half, Franklin Ave., on March 2. FD arrived at the scene at 4:45 a.m. on that eve, and used mechanical ventilation to remove smoke... A 1995 Chevrolet had engine trouble on March 2 at Oxford Blvd... A squirrel hit a circuit breaker at a Glen Rd. residence on March 2... An alarm was set off by a dryer on Dartmouth St. on the same day... FD vented steam from a room at AAA, Kellum Place, on March 4. A sponge had been left in an oven there... A gas burner overheated at Huntington Rd. on March 4... A ballast in a light fixture melted at a Poplar St. house on March 4... Someone pulled an alarm box at Adelphi on March 6... A small plastic object melted in a dishwasher at a Westbury Rd. house on March 7... A burst sprinkler pipe caused water to flow at a Carteret Place house on March 7...That's all this week. G. T.
