Special Lenten Evensong At The Cathedral

On Sunday, March 4, at 4 p.m. there will be a special Evensong for Lent sung by the Cathedral Choirs of Men, Boys and Girls. The Cathedrals and Abbeys of England offer the service of Evensong on a daily basis. It provides a serene way to end the day in prayer and praise. The musical settings for the Nunc Dimittus (The Song of Simeon) and The Magnificat (Song of Mary) to be used by the Cathedral Choirs are by the renowned composer T. Teritius Noble. The Magnificat was offered by The Blessed Virgin Mary at the Annunciation as recorded in the Gospel of Luke. The Song of Simeon expresses Simeon's belief that he can die in peace whenever his time comes, because he has seen Christ.

All are welcome to come and share and enjoy this traditional way of observing Lent. For further information about the Cathedral Choirs contact Mr. Larry Tremsky, Organist and Choirmaster at 746-2955 or check the Cathedral's website at www.incarnationgc.org.
