St. John's Kenyan Children's Foundation Inaugural Mass

Some of the children in Kenya
With a large audience of faithful supporters, the St. John's Kenyan Children's Foundation held its Inaugural Mass last Wednesday Feb. 7th at St. Joseph's Church in Garden City. The church was filled with a wonderful spirit of unity and love that was encouraging and inspirational to all. Fr. Gabriel Muteru, Honorary Chairman of the Foundation, celebrated the Mass, with Fr. Brian Ingram, and Fr. Andiy Egargo as co-celebrants. During his speech, Fr. Gabriel spoke with details about the creation of the foundation and revealed its plans for the future. Among the supporters in attendance was Mr. Peter Bee, Mayor Elect of the Village of Garden City, with his wife Maryanne. The Trustees and Board Members held a Reception after the Mass to thank everyone present for their support.

All guests were able to view a slide presentation prepared by Lucy Agrawal, with photos of the children who are receiving financial support from the foundation. This event officially announced the creation of the Foundation, and proclaimed its mission: "To provide education and to promote the welfare of orphan Kenyan children." The Foundation is seeking for special people who would like to become "parent/sponsor" of an Orphan Kenyan child.
