Six Of Eight Council Champs Win In Competition

Six out of eight winners of "Msgr. Johns Knights" Council championships held in late January also won District titles in the 2007 Kof C Basketball Championships held at St. Thomas the Apostle on February 10, GK Bob Guida and "Jay" Lynch recently reported.

They were:

GIRLS: 11 Yr. Old Alexandria Baldini.

BOYS: 10 yr. old Kyle Lynch, 11 Yr. Old Brendan Emmons; 12 Yr. Old Patrick Farley; 13 Yr. Old Ryan Fitzsimmons and 14 Yr. old, Alexander Orenchuk.

12 year old Christina Guida and 13 year old Erin Dean had also won in the Council championships

The Council Division of the 2007 K of C Championships had been held on Sunday, Jan. 21 in McCloskey Auditorium. Officially there were 31 participants. Unofficially, we had about 35-40 participants. The additional children participated in the "Knock Out" contest.

Knights who assisted in the Free Throw contest included: Jay Lynch, Mike Lynch, Bob Guida, Basil Bliss, Dan Burns, Dave O'Connor, Bob McAuliffe, John Mulligan, Leo Driscoll, and prospective Knight Bob Reeves, though he mights disagree with that description. Teresa Lynch helped with the Knock Out Contest.

The Nassau County Championship will be conducted at Holy Trinity High School on Saturday, March 24 at 10 A.M. according to GK Bob Guida.
