GCAA Travel Basketball

All 14 of our teams continue their extremely competitive play with 9 of our 14 teams sporting over .500 records.

Here are some of the highlights: Walczyk 5th Girls remain atop their division with a sparkling 11-1 record. Leslie Wann and Emma Basel's scoring and ball handling has been a highlight for Basel 4th Girls.

Kelly 5th Boys, 2-0 during the week, have been led by Tim McDonagh's rebounding, Matt Kelly's sharpshooting and Kevin Mullins' point guard wizardry. Tommy Leggett and Carney Mahon's play has led an improving Tully 5th Boys, now 7-5.

Raphael 8th Boys, in first in their division with a 9-4 ledger, have been led by Jack Manning and Ryan Fitzsimmons. Kyle Brattan and Colin D'Angelo spearhead a fierce trapping defense for Granville 4th Boys.

Alexis Leighton's backcourt play and Shannon Raphael's inside play have led Raphael 4th Girls to a 7-4 mark, best among all 4th grade girls teams. Kiffel 7th Girls have moved up to third place in their division with an 8-3 record thanks to the improving play of Maggie Comiskey and Kelly Sprotte.

Darcy McGuire's slashing to the hoop leads the offense for Basel/Capetola 7th Boys. Capetola 7th Boys remain in 3rd place in their division with a fine 8-4 record. For complete standings and schedules check the website, www.islandgarden.com. Come out and cheer for your teams !!!!!!!
