PTA Nominating Committee Seeks Volunteers

Research shows that a family's level of participation in its children's education has a great impact on the students' grades, attendance and attitude toward school. The more parents are involved in a child's education, the more successful the student becomes.

The Garden City PTA offers parents many opportunities to get involved. A parent can volunteer at the individual school level and on the district level. PTA is a wonderful way to meet people and be an important part of your children's education.

The Executive Committee of the PTA has 8 open positions which need to be filled for the 2007 - 2008 school year. On February 28th, 2007, the nominating committee will meet to select a slate of officers to fill the following positions:

President (currently held by Jeanine Swartz)

1st VP/Budget (currently held by Angela Heineman)

2nd VP/Curriculum (currently held by Lisa Arning)

Treasurer (currently held by Laura Condulis)

Director, Middle School (currently held by Carol Knoch)

Director, Stratford School (currently held by Julie Germano)

Director, Stewart School (currently held by Cynthia George)

Director, Hemlock School (currently held by Stefanie Granville)
