"Oh! Danny Boy... The Knights... The Knights... Are Calling!"

Honoring Jan Maas for presentation to MCEI on her famous "I Love New York" campaign.
That's the theme making the rounds in St. Anne's parish in advance of the promised "roasting and toasting" of a retired advertising executive and longtime Msgr. John's Knights Ad and Promotion Director, Dan Burns, by his Knight buddies scheduled to take place at a dinner-dance in Koenig's Restaurant, Floral Park, at 7 P.M. on Saturday evening, Feb. 24. This. according to Grand Knight Bob Guida and a quartet of Knights' committeemen : "Jay" Lynch, John Parks, Joe Hayes and Past Grand Knight Jim Ciofffi. Reservations at $55 each may be made by calling (516) 352-2457.

On hand, in addition to the Knights, their wives and parishioners will be Knights dignitaries, the Clergy, the Burns family and former members of Burns' talented Sales Promotion staff at the William Esty Advertising agency formerly in New York City, now extinct---a victim of advertising's merger mania.

In a probable effort to protect his reputation in advance of the 'toasters and roasters,'" Burns has reached into his dusty photo file to recall his days as "advertising's guru of sales promotion" (N.Y. TIMES) which also ran a full-page feature on him and his department written by the late Times Advertising columnist, James Dougherty.

Honoring former Governor Mario Cuomo, keynoter at an MCEI conference in the N.Y. Hilton Hotel in 1979.
Burns also served as International Chairman of MCEI Marketing Communications Executives, a trade organization made up of sales promoters from the U.S., Europe and Japan. Here are some photos from his file.

Now, come and see what "Msgr. John's Knights" "Toasters and Roasters" have to say in answer to Dan's photo flurry at the "Oh! Danny Boy..." dinner-dance on Saturday, Feb. 24 at Koenig's Restaurant, Floral Park. Again...for reservations, call (516) 352-2457.

"Msgr. John's Knights" represent Msgr. John C. Seidenschwang Council, Knights of Columbus, Garden City, NY 11530.
