Interfaith Nutrition Network At Thursday Luncheon

The Interfaith Nutrition Network program will discuss the issues of hunger and homelessness on Long Island on February 22 from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. This senior group meets in the church parlor of Garden City Community Church. Guests are asked to bring a sandwich and dessert and beverage will be provided by hostesses Blanche Volz and Alice Melkonian.

The program will be presented by the supervisor for the speakers bureau, Cynthia Sucich. This program will inform us on the needs of people living on Long Island and how the INN helps to meet the needs with the help of 2,000 volunteers.

The INN was founded in 1983 by a group of volunteers in Hempstead and today operates 19 soup kitchens, 4 emergency shelters, I transitional housing housing program, and 25 long term housing sites.

Members of the community are welcome to this meeting and if you need transportation please call the church office 746-1700. Looking forward to seeing you on the 22 and learning more about the needs of -people living on Long Island.
