India Republic Day Ceremony

Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray (fourth left), Senior Councilman Anthony Santino (fifth right), Councilwoman Angie Cullin (second left), Councilwoman Dorothy Goosby (third right), Councilman Ed Ambrosino (second right), Receiver of Taxes Don Clavin (left) and Town Clerk Mark Bonilla (right) thank the committee members who helped put together the Town of Hempstead 4th Annual India Republic Day Ceremony. The January 23rd celebration, which was hosted by the Town of Hempstead and held at the Nathan L.H. Bennett Pavilion at Town Hall, is Long Island's only ceremony commemorating the establishment of India as a Republic and its liberation from British rule.
