GC Resident Named To Board Of Directors Lehigh Technologies, Inc., a leading manufacturer of engineered rubber powder, announced today the addition of Joseph Vecchio to its board of directors. Vecchio, a Garden City native, brings more than 45 years of industrial recycling expertise to Lehigh, having been at the forefront of leading the industry in adopting European technologies to establish U.S.-based materials recovery facilities. This announcement comes on the heels of the company's closing of $18 million in equity financing, led by NGP Energy Technology Partners, a growth capital private equity fund sponsored by NGP Energy Capital Management. "We are thrilled to have Joe join our board of directors," stated Dennis J. Gormley, Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh. "Lehigh has experienced considerable growth over the past year, servicing customers in a myriad of industries. Our engineered rubber powder is being adopted as a staple in key manufacturing processes. Joe's rich history in industrial recycling will enable us to expand our line of rubber powder products and open the doors to new application uses." Vecchio was a key architect in building ReSource NE, a $340 million recycling company in the New York metropolitan area. Inheriting a small waste hauling family business, Vecchio subsequently created, through internal growth and acquisition, one of the largest regional waste management and recycling companies in the country. He ultimately sold the business to Waste Management in 1996 in one of the largest single acquisitions the company ever made.
