It is the first time in Garden City High School History, which a Girls Varsity Track team has qualified for this prestigious national event. The team will travel to Landover, MD. on March 10 & 11.

The 4 x 800 relay team consisting of Katie Reilly (9th grade), Maddie Adams (11th grade), Emily Menges (9th Grade) and Brooke Senken (11th grade) finished in 6th Place with a time of 9:37.17 at the Archbishop Molloy Stanner Games held at the New York Armory on January 13, 2007.

Coach Erica Fregosi feels that this relay team is the best in Nassau County and may rank in the top ten in the nation. The team has depth and talent which is evidenced by the participation of 2 freshmen on this High School record breaking team. Coach commented, "There is chemistry and a desire to win among the girls". This desire took the team to the Conference Championships, where then won by 115 points, and will bring the team to the County Championships on February 4th. The team has an eye on competing in the New York State High School Championships in March at Cornell University.

Good luck girls in the upcoming weeks. Run fast, run hard and don't look back. Make Garden City proud!
