AAUW Presents Holiday Program

The Garden City branch of the American Association of University Women presented a holiday program on December 3 rd at the Garden City Public Library. The presentation included a month-long art exhibit of work by AAUW members. At the meeting, members also shared original prose and poetry efforts. One member showed a costume collection. Other members demonstrated their musical talents. The program ended with a sing-along, a AAUW holiday tradition. Delicious refreshments were also part of the festivities. Lauren Fiorentino was chairperson of the meeting. Alberta Maggio and Ann Senchyshyn were in charge of hospitality.


Linda Guggino's soprano voice ushered in the holiday season.
Margaret Delahunt accompanied and lead the traditional AAUW holiday sing-along.
Alice Comisso read an original poem.
Jane Cox read her original children's book "Amazing Abigail Up At Bat"to her grandchildren. Trevor, Spencer, Abigail and Trevor Cox. Another eager listener was Sam, the dog.
The Cox grandchildren enacted a scene from the book.
Rose Ann Palmer read her newspaper story.
Jane Cox and her grandchildren shared special moments at the end of the story.
Joan Repetto described her costume collection to the audience.
Harriet Caratenuto and Graydon Vanderbilt enjoyed the artwork at the library.
