Runoff Election For Trustee Open To All Estates Residents

As previously announced, all residents of the Estates Section of Garden City are encouraged to come out and vote in the Elector's Runoff Election on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Garden City High School (lobby of Merillon Ave Circle) from 4:00PM to 9:00PM.

The winner of this runoff election will be the Estates Trustee Nominee. The two candidiates are John A. DeMaro and Rob Rothschild. There have been a few articles in the village papers as well as in the Estates Reporter (newsletter) with biographical information.

Regardless of the choice of candidate for which you will vote, please be sure to exercise your right to vote. If you are 18 yrs old or older and you live in the Estates, you are elligible to vote.

Please be certain to arrive on time between 4pm and 9pm on Tuesday, January 30th at Garden City High School.

You must be 18 years old or older and must bring with you "current, valid photo identification" in order to vote. Election clerks are NOT permitted to personally acknowledge your identity without proper ID.

Acceptable photo identification is: valid New York Department of Motor Vehicle Driver's License, or valid New York Department of Motor Vehicle Learner's Permit, or valid New York Department of Motor Vehicle Non-Driver's Photo ID Card, or valid US Passport with Estates Section of Garden City address on it.

If you do not have any of these types of identification, or if you are a new resident to the Estates Section, you may still be able to vote. You must present other proof of age and Estates Section residency and photo ID, afterwhich you will be asked to sign an Identity/Resdiency Affidavitt (notary's will be available at the Election site). You will then cast a paper ballot for the candidate of your choice.
