Chamber Announces 2007 Pineapple Ball Honorees

Stephanie Cullum Business Person of the Year
The Garden City Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce its selection of honorees for 2007 to be feted at the 4th annual Pineapple Ball, Garden City's quintessential event. The gala will be held on Friday evening, April 20, 7 p.m. at the Garden City Hotel.

Robert J. Rothschild has been selected as Garden City Citizen of the Year. This prestigious award, established by the Chamber in 1970, acknowledges outstanding service and volunteerism to the Village of Garden City and to the Chamber of Commerce. A long-time resident of Garden City, Rob Rothschild has been an active and contributing member of the community. Having risen through the ranks of the Estates Property Owners' Association, Rob served on the Nominating Committee, as a director, vice president and president. He was elected to the Village Board of Trustees in 2003, subsequently chairing nearly every commission and holding liaison ships to several boards. Rob Rothschild is currently seeking re-election to the Garden City Village Board of Trustees representing the Estates Section. His community involvements include serving as a current director of the Men's Association of the Garden City High School. He was a co-director of the Pre-Cana program at St. Joseph's Parish for more then ten years. Rob was a member of the Village's Business Planning Coalition and served as Liaison Officer to the business community for two years, attending monthly Chamber board meetings. Professionally, Rob is the Senior Vice President in charge of Real Estate Lending for Signature Bank.

Robert Salvatico Community Achievement Award
Robert Salvatico will be honored as recipient of the Community Achievement Award, established in 1974 to commemorate outstanding professionalism and major contributions to the Village through one's profession. Rob is the Senior Vice President of Operations for the Garden City based JARAL Properties, owner and operator of the Wingate Inn, Garden City and the Riverhead based Holiday Inn Express East End and Best Western East End. As General Manager of the Wingate Inn for three years, Rob developed sales, marketing and operational strategies. An active member of the community, Rob serves on the Board of Directors for the Garden City Chamber of Commerce, having held several chairmanships; the Hofstra University Alumni Organization & Advisory Boards; the Chaminade High School Golf Committee; the Winthrop University Hospital Golf Committee; and is founding member of the Business Networking Group, NLI.. A graduate of Hofstra University, Rob is recipient of their Alumni Organization's 2005 Young Alumnus of the Year Award. In 2005, he was also named to the Long Island Business News top 40 Under 40.

Robert J. Rothschild Citizen of the Year
Stephanie Cullum has been named Garden City Business Person of the Year. This award represents significant contributions to the local economy, to the advancement of the aims and objectives of the Chamber of Commerce; and to the welfare of the community. These criteria were established by the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, creators of this prestigious award in 1994. Stephanie Cullum is Associate Broker/Manager of Coach Realtors, Garden City. Prior to 2002 when she joined Coach, Stephanie had been Associate Broker at Hubbell & Klapper, Inc. since1991. She is a member of the Council of Real Estate Broker Managers (CRB); a member of the Long Island Board of Realtors, SRES; and a member of Luxury Home Marketing Institute. Stephanie has conducted real estate seminars within the Village and served on real estate panels for Garden City's property owners' associations. She has been an active member of the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors having served on several Chamber committees including co-chair of the Silent Auctions & Raffle Committee for several past Pineapple Balls.
