"Women In Medicine In The 21st Century"

Catherine S. Manno On Wednesday, January 2, 2008 the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead has invited former resident Catherine S. Manno, M.D., to speak to us on a very timely topic, "Women In Medicine In the 21st Century". Many of you may remember Dr. Manno from previous apperances at the club. She is a very informative and entertaining speaker and we look foward to having her with us again. Remember the date, January 2nd, at 1:30 P.M., at the Garden City Casino.

Dr. Manno grew up in Garden City and is the daughter of past President Marie Scott and the late Dr. John Scott. She is a professor of pediatrics at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine as well as associate chair for clinical activities in the Department of Pediatrics and medical director of the Children's Hospital Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center.

Dr. Manno graduated from Duke University and recieved an MD from Hannemann Medical College. Her pediatric residency training was completed at St. Christopher's Hospital in Philadelphia along with a fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology. She is the recipient of several teaching awards at children's hospital and the Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

A question and answer session will follow the program and please do stay for the tea hour to meet and chat with Dr. Manno.
